Strength
Sawed timber and
the WOODRIUM FOR KITCHEN coating
protect the countertops from scratches.
The natural wood (countertops, life tables, storage counters, dual-top counters) are treated in a variety of different ways to maintain strength. The sawed timber on the surface resists exposure of the core materials from the scratches caused by wear and tear. The wood is thick enough to prevent the warping caused by humidity. The natural wood surface has five coats of urethane for scratch resistance. The second coat uses a flexible coating material to absorb and soften impacts and shocks.
Water resistance
Up to seven coats of urethane
protect the natural wood from water damage.
The special urethane coating protects the countertop from water spills and stains. Five surface coats repel water, while the double bottom coats control evaporation to prevent warping. The cut edges, which are more at risk of water absorption, are protected by up to seven coats. The sink edges, exposed to the most water, are guarded by special coating materials. The ends and the sink area use solid natural wood of the same type as the cut timber for improved water resistance. The countertops provide performance suitable for heavy daily use.
Cleanliness
Meets SIAA antiviral and antibacterial standards.
The safe, reliable coatings used in the WOODRIUM FOR KITCHEN satisfy the five standards of the Society of International Sustaining Growth for Antimicrobial Articles (SIAA) for antiviral and antibacterial performance. Safety has been demonstrated through a variety of tests. The urethane coatings make it easy to wipe away spilled foods or seasonings to keep the natural wood clean and hygienic at all times.
Colon bacillus
Ever present in the human intestinal tract, the pathogenic form of this bacteria is called E. coli O-157, which produces verotoxins, and it is particularly toxic. Exposure can cause diarrhea, bloody stool, or more severe complications.

Golden staph
Ever present on the human skin and in the nasal cavity, this bacteria grows in grape fimbria. It's called a "toxic department store" because it produces a variety of toxins that can cause different infectious diseases. Of these, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a primary cause of infections in hospitals.

- A solution containing the bacteria was dripped on the product surface and left to grow for 24 hours at 35°C and 90% or higher humidity before cleaning. The detergent used was then placed in a culture and left to grow for 48 hours at 35°C before measuring the bacteria count.

Care
Wiping with water or alcohol will clean most spills.
Our kitchens have been tested for the cleaning of a variety of different materials that are often used in the kitchen, such as seasonings and oils. Natural wood countertops are easy to clean with water after spills of seasonings or beverages. The coating protects the surface when using chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) and alcohol-based kitchen cleaners. You can continue to use the kitchen with peace of mind every day.

Family group testing
Ten materials used in the kitchen (soy sauce, Worcester sauce, coffee, mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, green tea, whiskey, vegetable oil, red wine) poured on surface and left for six hours before wiping. Surface assessed after drying for 24 hours.
